What You Need to Know

Below you’ll find information on what’s new including key dates and recent changes to various state PFML and Disability Insurance programs.

Here’s what’s new or coming soon!

March 31, 2022:

  • NY state’s average weekly wage published. New wage does not impact NY PFL benefits until 1/1/2023
  • NH PFL – Request for Information (RFI) publication due from the state in preparation for their new PFL program

April 2022:

  • April 7 - VA passed a new PFL Voluntary bill. More details to be released later this year.
  • April 9 – MD passed a new PFML program with contributions set to begin October 2023 and benefits payable in January 2025. More details to be released later this year.

September 1, 2022:

  • NY PFL – Publishes updates effective 1/1/2023

October 2022:

  • OR PFML – Publish requirements for Self-insured voluntary plans (State will have PFML contribution collections starting 1/1/2023, delayed from 2022)
  • CT, MA, NJ, and WA – Publish annual updates to be effective 1/1/2023
  • Social Security Wage index is published. This is used to calculate WA, MA, and CT funding contribution limits
