The Department of Veterans Affairs Dental Insurance Reauthorization Act of 2016 extended VADIP until December 31, 2021. However, the Department of Veterans Affairs Expiring of Authorities Act of 2021 eliminated the termination date of December 31, 2021. As a result, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has officially exercised their option with MetLife to extend the MetLife VADIP (Veterans Affairs Dental Insurance Program) plan into 2022.
Veterans who are enrolled in the VA health care system and beneficiaries and their dependents of the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the VA (CHAMPVA) can continue to enroll in the MetLife VADIP program. The current 2021 MetLife VADIP premium rates are guaranteed to remain the same through 8/31/2022 or until a new contract is officially awarded. MetLife shall continue the performance of the VA dental insurance program and service to our current Veteran and CHAMPVA enrollees.
